这部电影太接地气了，从色彩到构图，到剧情 到表演，那真是很历史。但是，这部片子对于武术的理解与表现，达到了一个峰值。不是那种表演式的眼花缭乱，而是招招要命，简单直接。于承惠是武术名家，在早期的“少林寺”里，独家双手剑结合了中国剑术与日本剑道的优长，很是耀眼。而在这部影片里，他的翻身回头枪，令人心惊胆战，不愧武术大家名号。这部电影宣传的思想与哲学理念，接受的人不会很多，对于主人公的际遇和结局，也实在不好多做评论。定义这部片子为动作片的话，稍显肤浅，还是当“艺术流”电影来看吧。
